Mikel Arteta Takes Responsibility After Arsenal's 3-2 Home Defeat to Man United
Mikel Arteta takes full responsibility for Arsenal's first home defeat of the season as United stun the Gunners 3-2 at the Emirates.

Mikel Arteta accepted full responsibility after Arsenal suffered their first home loss of the 2025/26 Premier League season, going down 3-2 to Manchester United at the Emirates.
Arsenal had taken the lead thanks to an own goal from Lisandro Martinez. However, United fought back with goals from Brian Mbemo and Patrick Dorgu. The late winner came from Mateus Cunha, securing victory for Michael Carrick’s side.
We accept the defeat. We congratulate the opponent. We move forward. We need to remind the players how good they are. I take responsibility for everything!

After the painful setback, Arteta stressed the need for unity and support within his squad.
When we lose, that's when we need to show togetherness and unity. Very painful result, but now it's time to be close to the players who bring us so much joy. It's time to be very, very close to them and support them – we want to WIN!
