Barcelona and Real Madrid face off in a direct clash for the Spanish Super Cup at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Saudi Arabia. The venue, which can hold 63,241 spectators, is also set to host matches in the 2034 World Cup.

The match kicks off on Sunday (January 11) at 21:00 and will be broadcast live on BTV Action.

Barcelona put on a stunning display in the first Super Cup semi-final, thrashing Athletic Bilbao 5-0. Four goals came in the first half, showcasing the Catalans' strong form, motivation, and offensive prowess as they aim to defend their trophy.

A key doubt for head coach Hansy Flick remains the fitness of young talent Lamine Yamal. He missed the Bilbao game and isn't fully recovered, so his participation in the final is still uncertain.

Since early December, Barcelona have been unstoppable. They've won nine straight games across all competitions, scoring at least two goals in each one. Flick even rested key players against Athletic Bilbao by making early substitutions, ensuring the team stays fresh for this crucial showdown.

Real Madrid earned their spot in the final with a tough 2-1 win over Atletico Madrid. Despite the victory, "Los Blancos" didn’t dominate — Atletico had a significant edge in attempts on goal, 22 to just 8 for Madrid. That suggests the Madrid squad faced a more exhausting semi-final under Xabi Alonso.

After the match, Alonso revealed there's a good chance Kylian Mbappé could be available for the final. The French striker missed the Atletico game due to a knee injury sustained in late December. He is expected to join the squad in Jeddah, but his match fitness remains unclear.

In the last three Spanish Super Cup finals between these two giants, Barcelona have won two, including last year's emphatic 5-2 victory. Real Madrid responded with a convincing 4-1 win in the 2024 final. Interestingly, all these finals featured at least four goals.

Barcelona also benefit from having a 24-hour rest advantage, while Real had a much tougher semi-final battle, tilting the odds in favor of the Catalans. They are the favorites to win, with odds of 2.25 on the WINBET website and mobile app. The over 2.5 goals market also looks attractive at 1.60, given the high-scoring nature of recent finals between these two.

The predicted outcome is a Barcelona victory.
