Bayern Munich suffered a shocking 1-2 home defeat to Augsburg in the 19th round of the Bundesliga, marking their first loss of the season. Luis Díaz gave the hosts an early lead, but goals from Arthur Chaves and Han-Noah Massengo secured a surprising victory for the visitors in the Bavarian Derby.

This win lifted Augsburg to 19 points and 13th place in the table, while Bayern remain top with 50 points.

At Allianz Arena, Bayern took the lead in the 23rd minute. After a corner from Michael Olise, Hiroki Ito rose in the box and headed the ball into the net.

Just three minutes later, Augsburg’s goalkeeper Finn Dahmen made an impressive save from a low shot by Luis Díaz. Near the end of the first half, Harry Kane came close to doubling Bayern’s lead, but his shot was blocked by the defense.

After the break, Augsburg grew bolder and gradually pushed the game closer to Jonas Urbig’s goal. In the 75th minute, the Bayern keeper saved a shot from Alexis Claude-Maurice, but fumbled the ball on the subsequent corner. Arthur Chaves was on hand to head in the equalizer at 1-1.

The visitors kept the pressure on and completed the comeback in the 81st minute. Dimitris Janulis surged down the left flank and crossed into the box, where Bayern’s defense left Han-Noah Massengo unmarked. Massengo scored from close range to make it 2-1.

Bayern threw everything forward in search of an equalizer, but in the fifth minute of stoppage time, Michael Olise’s effort hit the post.

Augsburg left Munich with a historic win and earned the symbolic title of “Lords of Bavaria.”
