Milan suffered a heavy 2-0 defeat away to Sassuolo in the 35th round of Serie A.

Domenico Berardi put the hosts ahead early, scoring in the fifth minute. The game took a turn for the worse for the Rossoneri in the 24th minute when Fikayo Tomori was sent off after picking up a second yellow card.

Just after halftime, Armand Lauriente sealed the win for Sassuolo with a goal in the 47th minute.

Despite the loss, Milan still holds onto Champions League hopes next season, sitting third in the standings with 67 points. Sassuolo currently occupy ninth place.

Meanwhile, Bologna played out a goalless draw at home against Cagliari.

Later tonight, Inter Milan could clinch the Serie A title if they win or draw at home against Parma.
