Argentinian supporters have started an online petition calling for the 2026 World Cup final to be replayed, according to the Portuguese outlet A Bola.

The campaign was launched on Change.org by Argentina fan Hisela Sanchez, who claims the refereeing in the final against Spain was biased and directly influenced the outcome.

She argues that Argentina was denied a fair shot at the world title due to controversial decisions by the main referee. The petition urges FIFA to annul the match result and schedule a rematch of the final.

The initiative quickly gained traction, with around 61,000 people supporting it so far.

Despite widespread public interest, such petitions hold no binding legal authority, and there are currently no signs FIFA plans to consider the request.

Spain won the final 1-0 after extra time, clinching the world title, while Argentina took home the silver medals following a dramatic match that continues to spark debate among football fans.
