Chelsea’s Mudryk Cleared by FA After Doping Ban, Returns to First Team

The Football Association (FA) of England has cleared Chelsea's Ukrainian midfielder Mykhailo Mudryk to return to the pitch following a doping ban, the organization announced.
The disciplinary proceedings concluded with the agreement of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). During the investigation, Mudryk admitted to doping violations. He accepted a suspension period equal to the time he had already served at the date of the agreement. Now, the player is eligible to rejoin Chelsea's squad.
FA and Mr. Mudryk, with WADA's consent, have now resolved the appeal process. As part of the agreement, Mr. Mudryk accepted that he committed anti-doping violations and agreed to a ban period equal to the time served up to the date of the agreement.

Back in December 2024, Chelsea confirmed that Mudryk had failed a doping test. Subsequently, the FA suspended him from football matches. By April 2026, it was revealed the ban spanned four years and the case had been escalated to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
Mudryk's last appearance for Chelsea was on December 1, 2024, in a 3-0 Premier League victory over Aston Villa.
The 25-year-old has scored 10 goals and provided 11 assists across 73 games for the London club.
