Coutinho

Philippe Coutinho to Chelsea

It is reported that Chelsea are among the clubs who were offered the chance to sign Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona in the summer.

The Brazilian is currently on loan to Bayern Munich, but the Bundesliga leaders are not interested in signing the player permanently.

The 27-year-old player made 22 appearances for the Bundesliga giants and scored only eight goals so far this season and made six assists.

It is known that Barcelona are not looking to keep the player, who moved to Camp Nou from Liverpool in 2018 for £145m.

Coutinho came in as a sub in the 3-0 win against Chelsea in the Champions League, and while he was in London he told his agent that he wants to play in the Premier League again.

Chelsea now have the chance to sign him and strengthen their frontline.

The Blues signed Hakim Ziyech from Ajax and have managed to stabilize the situation in the midfield area, but now three player will be out of contract in the summer – Pedro, Willian and Olivier Giroud.

It is still unknown whether the Premier League team are going to make a move as they are still uncertain how the coronavirus pandemic is going to affect their financial status.

Other possibility for Coutinho is to return to his former club Inter Milan. Barcelona are looking for a way to sign Lautaro Martinez, but the Argentinian player price is going to be a real challenge for the Catalans, as they are facing serious financial problems due to the COVID-19 crisis.

Argentinian's price is set to be £97m (€110m), and Barcelona will have to offer some of the players in order to sign him, and Coutinho might be one of the suggestions.

For now the only problem seems to be the high value of Lautaro as he is keen to join Barcelona and the personal terms are not expected to be a problem.
