After spending three seasons as a winger with Paris-Saint Germain, Bradley Barcola, 24, made a high-profile move to Liverpool FC this summer, with a transfer fee exceeding £100 million. He quickly became the standout signing of the Premier League's summer window.

In a chat with Sky Sports, Barcola shared his thoughts on how Ligue 1 differs from English football. He pointed out the physical nature of French football, highlighting the strength and presence of many players. Yet, the physical demands in England, he noted, come more from the sheer amount of running required.

The big difference I'd say is that Ligue 1 is very physical. There are lots of players who use their physicality. But here, I would say it's more physical in terms of the running you have to do.

He also described the Premier League matches as being very fast-paced, constantly swinging from one end of the pitch to the other. For Barcola, this style means less emphasis on tactics compared to Ligue 1 and much greater intensity, which has even caught him off guard early on.

The games are end-to-end. I find it's less tactical than it is in Ligue 1. It's a lot of running. That's why in my first few matches, I've been getting cramps. It's all because the intensity is so high. But that’s also why I came here. It’s a new challenge for me to take on.

Beyond the pitch, the French winger praised the warm treatment from both Liverpool's staff and players. He mentioned that fellow Frenchmen Hugo Ekitike and Jeremy Jacquet have played a key role in helping him settle into his new environment smoothly.
