Leroy Sane was out of action since last August because of knee ligament injury.
The 24-year-old, played his first 57 minutes in the Manchester City U23s against Arsenal U23s.
That was Sane's first match on his return to action.
The Lights Blues won 4-2. Sane played in his preferred position as left wing.
He was replaced by Liam Delap, who is the son of former Stoke player Rory Delap.
Adrian Bernabe scored twice for Man City with the visitors' other goals coming from Taylor Bellis and Jayden Braaf.
However, Guardiola won't rush Sane to come back in the first team so quickly.
Back in the summer transfer window Sane was linked with a move to the Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, but he got injured and the deal was off the table.
