Barcelona PRIORITIZES KEEPING FLICK LONG-TERM! Enrique and Arteta Eye Future Role
Barcelona wants Hansi Flick to stay beyond 2027 as club considers Luis Enrique and Mikel Arteta as future coaches. Big plans in motion.

Barcelona is enjoying a rare period of stability at the helm under Hansi Flick, whose appointment is widely regarded as one of the best decisions the club has made in recent years.
The German coach, signed until June 2027, has transformed the squad by drawing out strong individual and team performances. At the same time, he’s established a calm but demanding work culture that’s won over players, fans, and management alike.
The club’s intention is clear — they want to keep Flick for as long as possible. Barcelona hopes to extend his stay beyond his current contract, even though Flick himself prefers to take things one step at a time and make decisions based on how he feels. He has often expressed how happy he is both at the club and in the city.
Meanwhile, Barcelona is preparing alternatives. Internal planning has highlighted two names as potential future first-team coaches:
- Luis Enrique, currently leading PSG
- Mikel Arteta, the highly regarded Arsenal manager
Both are valued sports figures with strong ties to Barcelona’s identity, making them ideal long-term successors whenever Flick’s era comes to an end.
