Bodø/Glimt players celebrate as the scoreboard shows a 3–1 win over Manchester City at full time.

Bodø/Glimt achieved a historic first win in the Champions League by shocking Manchester City 3-1 at home in the seventh round of the group stage. The Norwegian side took full advantage of City's shaky performance to keep their hopes alive of progressing further in the tournament.

The defining moment came within just 117 seconds in the middle of the first half, when Kasper Høeg scored twice, tearing through City's defense. The English champions looked all too fragile at the back for a second straight match, with their defensive struggles only worsened by serious absences. Up front, Pep Guardiola’s team also failed to hit their usual high standard.

After halftime, Bodø/Glimt kept pushing. In the 58th minute, Jens Hauge made it 3-0. Two minutes later, Ryan Cherki pulled one back for Manchester City, but the visitors' hopes were quickly dashed. At 62 minutes, Rodri was sent off with a second yellow card, leaving City down to ten men.

The hosts pressed on and created chances, with two more goals ruled out for offside. The crossbar also denied Manchester City's goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma from conceding again. Bodø/Glimt played a mature, well-organized game right until the final whistle to claim a deserved triumph.

This win takes Bodø/Glimt to six points, keeping their chances of finishing among the top 24 teams in the competition alive. Manchester City suffered their second defeat of the season in the Champions League, and their first away from home. For now, City remain fourth in the standings, but they are expected to drop places once all other matches in the round are complete.
