Barcelona has set the date for its next presidential election following the first board meeting of 2026. According to RAC1, the vote will take place on March 15, 2026, right at the start of the legally mandated election window.

The board chose an earlier date to ensure stability in the club's management during the crucial final phase of the season.

Two dates were initially considered—March 15 and March 22—both coinciding with home games at Spotify Camp Nou. This timing was intended to encourage high voter turnout among club members.

Once the date is officially announced, current president Joan Laporta will resign as required by club rules before running for another term.

Laporta is expected to face competition from figures like Victor Font and Marc Serra, but he remains the clear favorite, largely due to improved sporting results despite ongoing financial worries.
