Musiala RETURNS to BOOST Bayern as Bundesliga Title on the Line
Musiala's comeback energizes Bayern Munich amid fatigue concerns after recent defeat. Key player set to start vs Hamburg in crucial clash.

Bayern Munich’s CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen dismissed the idea of major signings in the January window, describing the return of Jamal Musiala alongside long-term absentees Alphonso Davies and Hiroki Ito as "internal winter signings" that would bolster the squad.
Musiala suffered a broken leg during the Club World Cup but has now begun to ease back into action. After two substitute appearances and a standout performance in the Champions League midweek, the 22-year-old looks set to start Saturday’s away match against Hamburg.
Despite sitting comfortably eight points ahead of Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga, Bayern will still be smarting from their surprising 2-1 home defeat to Augsburg last week — their first league loss this season. Augsburg, while lacking the depth to truly challenge the champs, managed to exploit Bayern’s fatigue late in the campaign with relentless work-rate.
Musiala, although still regaining full match fitness after six months out, will be crucial in rejuvenating the squad for the demanding second half of the season. His first start back came in Bayern’s 2-1 win over PSV Eindhoven, where he opened the scoring with a goal that highlighted his unique skills. He weaved through a crowded box, executed a slick one-two, and finished with a powerful shot into the top corner.
"A beautiful goal from a tight angle," Bayern striker Harry Kane said of Musiala's strike. "He showed his qualities. He was outstanding and I take my hat off to him."
Hamburg pose a familiar challenge for Bayern, who have dominated their German rivals in recent years. The club with a proud European history last defeated Bayern in 2009. Since then, Bayern have taken 17 wins and 3 draws from 20 encounters, netting a staggering 36 goals in their last eight meetings to Hamburg’s solitary tally.
Earlier this season, Bayern demolished Hamburg 5-0 at the Allianz Arena. Still, Hamburg’s home form offers a glimmer of hope; they have collected 15 of their 18 points on their own turf and remained unbeaten there since October.
