FC Barcelona has officially confirmed its complete withdrawal from the European Super League. This move ends the project that the club helped launch as one of the founding members back in 2021.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the decision won’t have any financial repercussions. Barcelona reached an agreement with the Super League that allows them to leave without facing any penalties.

There had been speculation in recent months that clubs pulling out could face massive fines, reaching up to €300 million. But sources close to the club confirmed that Barcelona won’t pay any compensation.

This announcement marks the final step in Barcelona's gradual distancing from the Super League after months of rapprochement with UEFA. Conversations between club president Joan Laporta and UEFA president Aleksander Čeferin paved the way for a smooth, trouble-free exit from the project.
