Real Madrid Marcelo

Juventus still interested in Marcelo

Marcelo is continuing to attract the attention of the big clubs across Europe and one of them is reported to be Juventus.

The Real Madrid left-back has been linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu after he lost his starting spot in the squad and now Ferland Mendy is the prefered option this season.

After Cristiano Ronaldo left Los Blancos in 2018, Marcelo was always been linked with a possible move to Turin as the Brazilian is great friends with Ronaldo.

Last summer a lot of reports were saying that Maurizio Sarri wants to bring the 31-year-old to the Allianz Stadium.

However, it is not sure if Sarri will sign the Brazilian as he has options on the full-back position. He has Alex Sandro on the left plus Mattia de Sciglio and Danilo, who can both play either side.

Details on the deal

Juventus and Marcelo were due to meet to discuss the deal, but the coronavirus pandemic put an end to the negotiations.

According to La Stampa, the Italian side intend to offer the 31-year-old player a four-year deal, which means that it would be with two years longer than the current contract he has at Real Madrid.
