Real Madrid Kylian Mbappe applauds the crowd with hands raised after a match.

Real Madrid’s draw at La Cartuja against Betis not only put their title hopes in jeopardy but also raised doubts about Kylian Mbappe's fitness. The French forward was taken off late in the game after feeling discomfort, leaving fans and the club anxious about the seriousness of his injury.

Following an initial assessment, Mbappe underwent an MRI scan on Monday morning to pinpoint the extent of the damage. The club has since shared an official update on his condition.

The medical bulletin confirmed a semitendinosus muscle injury in Mbappe’s left leg. Sticking to their standard approach, Real Madrid did not offer a specific return date, emphasizing that the player’s availability will depend on how well he responds to treatment.

Despite the setback, reports from El Mundo reveal a cautious optimism within the club that Mbappe might still be fit to play in El Clasico at Camp Nou against Barcelona. By then, Real Madrid could be out of the title race mathematically, or their rivals might be on the brink of clinching the championship.

If he can’t recover in time for the crucial clash, there’s a strong possibility that the Betis game was Mbappe’s last outing this season. With just three matches remaining afterward and potentially no stakes left, it’s unlikely the star striker would risk further injury ahead of the upcoming World Cup.
