Barcelona's fragility- worst defence in 17 years

Despite winning away at Real Betis, Barcelona's defensive issues were again clear to see.

The Catalans have conceded 28 LaLiga Santander goals already this season, an unprecedented figure in recent years.

To find a worse total you have to go back as far as the 2002/03 season, when Barcelona had leaked 30 goals after 23 games.

That 2002/03 campaign isn't one remembered fondly at the Camp Nou.

The club ended the season without any trophies and Louis van Gaal was sacked mid-season for Radomir Antic.

Back to the present though, Barcelona's 28 goals conceded is a poor record, and they've only exceeded 20 goals at this stage on four occasions since 2002/03.

Of the four teams currently in the Champions League places, Barcelona have the worst defence.
