Manchester United want Ighalo to stay

Manchester United are considering extension of Ighalo's contract as his current deal expires in the end of May.

Ighalo's contract with the Red Devils will expire before the season resumes and he is due to return to the Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenhua.

The Premier League is not expected to return before June, but they hope that they can finish the current 2019/20 campaign by the end of August.

United want Ighalo to stay at the club as he managed to impress everyone during his short stay at Old Trafford.

Odion Ighalo made his dream move to Man United in the January transfer window and since then the 30-year-old player netted four goals in three starts for the club.

He made eight appearances for the Red Devils before the season was suspended due to the coronavirus crisis.

Despite United want to extend his stay at Old Trafford, everything depends on Shanghai Shenhua as the Chinese Super League edges towards the start of the season.

The Premier League has been suspended since March 13 and it is expected that it will resume in the middle of June.

United are interested in extending Igalo's contract as they have many injured player and the situation in the club is unstable.

‘Project Restart’ are doing everything to bring the current campaign to an end and it was reported that Manchester United told to the player to return to Britain as they are expected to return to training soon.
