Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund victorious over Wolfsburg

Another three points for Borussia Dortmund who beat Wolfsburg, and Favre's side cut the four points deficit to just one.

The hero of the match most certainly was Raphael Guerreiro, who scored the first goal of the match.

The visitors had more possession of the game, but Wolfsburg did well to press them and not let them pass the defence.

We expected more from Erling Haaland, as the Norwegian did not have any shots on target in today's match.

For most of the time Borussia had more possession over the ball, but they could not open up the defence as Wolfsburg players pressed them very well, but eventually the visitors managed to score two goals.

In the 32nd minute of the game, Guerreiro opened up the scoreline after a great assist from Thorgan Hazard. The Belgian crossed the ball in the penalty area for Erling Haaland, who did not manage to put it in the net, but right behind him was Guerreiro, who placed it right past the keeper.

However, both teams went in the dressing rooms with just one goal difference.

Right after the halftime, the hosts had great chance and their first clean opportunity to equalise, as Steffen was one on one with Burki, but he shot the ball in the post.

In the 65th minute of the second half, Favre decided to let Sancho in and that obviously was the right decision to make as the young Englishman assisted to Hakimi in the 78th minute.

After a great counterattack, Sancho had a chance to pass the ball to Haaland, but the defenders saw that and covered the Norwegian, so Sancho passed it to Hakimi, who netted the ball perfectly past the keeper.

Things got even worse for Wolfsburg as Klaus, who came in as a substitute, got a red card, after the referee decide that he played too harsh against Akanji.

Borussia are now just one point behind Bayern Munich, but the both teams are due to meet on Tuesday.
