Kylian Mbappé will be sidelined for around three weeks due to a persistent issue with his left knee, according to Cadena SER’s Carrusel program. The French superstar will miss the upcoming La Liga match against Getafe and several other games in the near future.

Real Madrid are holding out hope the forward will recover in time for the Champions League round of 16 second-leg tie against Manchester City. Getting Mbappé back for that crucial fixture is a top priority in his recovery schedule.

The 27-year-old has been battling a knee sprain since December, initially sustained after a 0-2 home defeat to Celta Vigo. Despite the injury, he featured regularly when his condition allowed, scoring 23 goals in 23 La Liga appearances this season.

However, recurring discomfort has limited his minutes and forced him to miss several important matches — including the Spanish Super Cup semi-final against Atlético Madrid and Álvaro Arbeloa’s coaching debut in the Copa del Rey against Albacete.

Mbappé played the full 90 minutes against Levante before the Christmas break and even scored in the 2-0 win. But a fresh flare-up during training has meant a more structured recovery protocol is now necessary. Real Madrid are proceeding with caution to avoid risking more serious damage and to ensure he's available for the season's decisive stages.
