Robert Lewandowski suffered a concussion during Barcelona's 4-1 victory over Villarreal in the 26th round of La Liga, the Catalan club confirmed.

Coming on as a substitute in the second half, Lewandowski scored the fourth goal in stoppage time to seal the win.

"Yesterday, in the match against Villarreal, Robert Lewandowski suffered a concussion. Today's tests revealed a fractured bone on the inner side of his left eye socket. The player will miss the match against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday," the club's press office stated.

Barcelona now face Atletico Madrid on March 3 in the Copa del Rey semi-finals, having lost the first leg 4-0.

Lewandowski, 37, has been with Barcelona since 2022. During his time at the club, he's won two La Liga titles, a Copa del Rey, and three Spanish Super Cups. The Polish striker is also a ten-time German champion—eight times with Bayern Munich and twice with Borussia Dortmund—and a two-time FIFA Player of the Year.
