It was a riveting moment from both sides and without a doubt a pleasant surprise for punters. Check out this summary of this spectacle:
Odds from every trusted Bitcoin bookmaker show a great disparity between the two teams. There was little doubt in audiences’ minds that Man City would have dominated Chelsea to close the 13th day. This turned out to be an exciting match for both sides resulting in a 4-4 score distribution. Here are the scorers of the match as well as the time stamps for when it happened:
Chelsea starts the game with an amazing defence, slowing down Man City’s attack and cutting off Haaland’s momentum for the first quarter. However, their strategy broke apart when Marc Cucurella wrapped his arms around the opponent’s ace striker, causing him to fall. Haaland was granted the penalty kick which went past Robert Sanchez who dove the other way.
The joy after the goal was short-lived because Thiago Silva evened the scores 4 minutes later. It was a near post flick that eventually passed through the defenders. Man City was back in the offensive and gave the lead to Phil Foden. The midfielder managed to break past three Chelsea defenders to deliver the ball forward and shoot but missed the net by the corner.
Joško Gvardiol got the ball from the goalie and passed it to Reece James who then took the shot and Raheem Sterling secured it in with a flick. It was another score for Chelsea now leading the match with a 2-1 upset at 37’. Man City went for another attack led by Bernardo Silva and Haaland but it was saved by Sanchez.
Man City doesn’t want to end the first half at a disadvantage. Silva and Haaland on the offence again, delivered the ball forward, past the defenders, and into Manuel Akanji who shot it in with a header. Thus, securing a 2-2 tie at 45+1’ before the first half ends.
The second half starts and not 2 minutes after half-time, Haaland is already on the attack. He held up the ball past Foden and Julian Alvarez at his sides. The midfielders’ assists helped Haaland deliver another backpost goal, securing a 2-3 lead for Chelsea.
Both teams played the long game this time with the majority of ball control in Chelsea’s side. The silence was broken at the Man City goalie’s side. Conor Gallagher shot the ball with a long-range drive which Ederson managed to block in time. However, the rebound went to Nicolas Jackson who tapped the rebound to the net, scoring for Chelsea.
The match reached 3-3 and Pep Guardiola opted for a more defensive midfield, swapping out Alvarez for Mateo Kovačić. It was another slow progress with neither side scoring until Rodri scored Man City’s 4th goal from a deflection off Thiago Silva. That was random but it’s a goal that Chelsea needs to close.
All that’s left is for Man City to keep up the defence and they’ll be the match winner. However, a last minute score from former Man City player, Cole Palmer, closed the gap. The match ended with a 4-4 tie after a goal scored at 95’. It was a miracle shot and a thrilling game to end the 12th match day of the EPL.
