Real Madrid back on top after El Clásico

Real Madrid are back on the top of LaLiga table after the great win over Barcelona 2-0. They are now just one point ahead of the Catalan.

After the first half there were no goals , but in the 70th minute Vinícius Júnior placed the ball right past Ter Stegen after it deflected from Piqué's foot.

In the first half Barcelona dominated, they had some great opportunities to take the lead but Real Madrid defense was on top Thibaut Courtois too.

In the 21st minute of the game Griezmann missed a great chance as he powered the ball way over the bar.

In the first half Thibaut Courtois made great saves to keep his sheet clean. He was 1v1 with Arthur and we just thought that he will score, but the Belgian has something different on mind.

Thibaut Courtois also made a great save after Messi's fine shoot.

The second half we saw a different Real Madrid. They tried to dominate and to pressure their rivals and they've created chance after chance.

Marc-André ter Stegen had to make an unbelievable saves to keep the ball out of the net. The first one was right after the second time when Isco made an incredible shot right below the bar, but Ter Stegen save it with a full extension.

The second chance came 15 minutes after and again Isco was involved. He made a great header but the German goalkeeper somehow saved the ball from not going in.

After those misses Vinícius Júnior opened the scoreline from nowhere. He made a shoot and ter Stegen was out of position and the ball deflected from Barcelona defender Gerard Piqué and went right into the net.

Just four minutes later Messi received a great ball and made a fantastic run to get 1v1 with the keeper, but Marcelo was faster and after great defending stopped Messi's attack.

In the added time Mariano destroyed Barcelona after scoring a similar goal with Vinícius's. The German international was beaten in the near post two times in one night.

Los Blancos fully deserved that win as they were the better team in the second half. Isco has a great night, Karim Benzema got into dangerous positions and almost put an end to his drought, Marcelo was at the top of his game and showed everyone that there is still life left in him.

With that win Real Madrid now go at the top of the table with 56 points and right behind them is Barcelona with 55.
