Three points for Arsenal after Lacazette's goal

Arsenal boosted their chances to play in the Champions League after their win against West Ham 1-0.

Alexandre Lacazette scored a late goal for Arsenal in the 78th minute and after a long check VAR confirmed that there was no offside and the goal was allowed.

However, after the first minutes of the first half we all thought that West Ham will take the lead but Jarrod Bowen hit the post. West Ham were the dominant team in the first half, they created chances that tested Bernd Leno.

After the break Michail Antonio created a great close range chance to open the scoreline and he forced the Arsenal keeper to make a great save.

Arsenal had their chances to open the scoreline in the first half too, but they wasted them. Mesut Özil tried to place the ball in the net from a volley, but it was blocked and Sokratis missed a great opportunity to take the lead, but he hit the post.

But eventually the Gunners took the three points after an assist from Özil and a goal from the substitute Lacazette. At first the goal was disallowed as the side referee lift the flag for a offside, but after a long check VAR confirmed the goal and the Frenchman got his third goal in four games.

What we saw tonight?

Pablo Mari made his debut in the Premier League for Arsenal. He made some mistakes that might have turned into scoring opportunities, but his overall performance was good.

Sokratis played on the right back again. It was an interesting decision by Arteta to put the Greek in that position again as it's not his preferred position and he is not as helpful in attack as Bellerin who was put on the bench.

West Ham were the better side in today's fixture despite the fact that Arsenal dominated in possession. They showed confidence against Arsenal and almost open the scoreline in the opening minutes of the game, but they were unfortunate to hit the post.

The visitors has created more chances in front of goal, but Leno was at the top of his game and he kept the ball out of his net.

However Arsenal were the winners after a late VAR drama.

The are now unbeaten in the Premier League. They have four wins and four draws.

The Gunners are now with three clean sheets in four games. Arsenal have 16 goal scored by substitutes and Lacazette scored four of them.

The Gunners have the highest scoring home record in the division as seven of Alexandre Lacazette's goals are scored at the Emirates.

They will be seriously tested next Wednesday night as they face Manchester City.
