Liverpool's STUNNING DRAW with Leeds Exposes Major Flaws
Liverpool drops crucial points in a goalless draw against Leeds, with Ilia Gruev starring for the visitors. What’s wrong with the Reds?

Liverpool started 2026 on a frustrating note as they played out a goalless draw against Leeds United at Anfield in the Premier League's 19th round.
Leeds’ Bulgarian international Ilia Gruev featured almost the entire match, starting as a key part of the visitors’ defense and only being subbed off in injury time for Ao Tanaka. The match was tightly contested, with few clear chances, slightly favoring the home side.
Gruev helped Leeds hold firm against the reigning English champions, contributing to a well-organized defensive effort that kept Liverpool at bay.

Leeds might have taken all three points, too, but a late goal by substitute Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the 81st minute was disallowed after an offside call. The English striker was marginally behind Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk, who was the last defender.
Van Dijk also had Liverpool’s best opportunity, heading a corner narrowly wide of the target.
The draw leaves Liverpool in fourth place with 33 points, while Leeds sits 16th on 21.
Palace and Fulham Share Spoils
At Selhurst Park, Crystal Palace and Fulham played out a 1-1 draw that split the points evenly.
Palace led through Jean-Philippe Mateta’s goal in the 39th minute, reflecting their stronger first-half display. However, a late strike from Fulham substitute Tom Cairney in the 80th minute rescued a point for the visitors.
Both teams enter the mid-season break sitting comfortably mid-table with 27 points each.
