Manchester United is gearing up for a major midfield rebuild this summer, focusing on two primary targets: Adam Worthon and Carlos Baleba. This plan comes after Casemiro’s confirmed departure at the end of the season.

The club has long identified the Crystal Palace and Brighton pair as their most viable options. Recently, confidence has grown at Old Trafford that they can secure both players by the summer.

United’s management is determined to avoid the chaos of previous transfer windows. Instead, they want to chase clear priorities early on in the process.

Worthon and Baleba are seen as the most likely additions, while signing Elliot Anderson seems less likely, with reports suggesting the player prefers a move to Manchester City.

The potential departure of other experienced midfielders could leave United dangerously thin in the centre of the park. This is pushing the club to plan for bringing in more than one key target.

Alongside major transfer pursuits, United is also exploring cheaper alternatives across Europe through sporting director Christopher Wivel, aiming to back up any bigger signings.

Casemiro’s exit creates a significant gap, despite hopes from some senior figures that he might stay on a reduced salary. The club is now prioritizing experience, dynamism, and long-term potential as it shifts its recruitment focus in midfield.
