Luka Jovic Real Madrid

Is it possible Jovic to get back on track?

Luka Jovic joined Los Blancos last summer. Real Madrid bought the Serbian from Eintracht Frankfurt for 60 million euros.

The 22-year-old player made a real sensation with his 24 goals for the German side and that Zidane gave a green light for Real Madrid to sign him.

However, the expectations for the young player were very high. He was due to replace Benzema in attack, but nothing has gone as expected since the beginning of the season.

Jovic played total of 24 games for Los Blancos and scored only two goals. We understand that it is hard to adapt in new country, team and style of play and Luka Jovic has still time in front of him to do so.

But will it happen any time soon?

Real Madrid have several examples of players who struggled upon their arrival, but eventually they turned the things around.

Luka Modric

The first example that comes to mind is Luka Modric. It took Modric couple of months to adapt to the style of play Real Madrid have after his arrival from Tottenham Hotspur.

But after an extraordinary performance, against Manchester United the Croatia international showed us what he is capable of.

Modric won four Champions League trophies in five seasons. with Real Madrid team.

Thibaut Courtois

Let's all be fair here Thibaut Courtois' first season at the club was a true disaster. He arrived in Spain known as the best goalkeeper in the 2018 World Cup, but he failed to justify that title.

He had the difficult task to compete with Keylor Navas for the main spot and after Navas left the Belgian struggled to put together a solid performance.

However, after he hit the rock bottom back in October, he regained his form back and has placed himself alongside Jan Oblak and Marc-Andre ter Stegen in the battle for the league's best goalkeeper.

Karim Benzema

The Frenchman is unrecognizable under Zidane, but in the past he struggled to gain prominence and playing time.

Fede Valverde

Fede Valverde signed with Real Madrid back in 2016 and before he moved to Deportivo de La Coruna, he spent one season at Real Madrid Castilla.

He made his return to the club last season and with patience and hard work, he managed to show Zidane that he definitely must have regular part in the squad.
