Aubameyang Arsenal

How should Arsenal proceed with Aubameyang?

Arsenal have a big decision to make regarding the future of the Gabonese star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Aubameyang's contract at the Emirates is set to expire in the summer of 2021, which is leaving Arsenal with two options - to sell the player, or to convince him somehow to stay at the club.

But the main question is are they going to convince him or they will lose another star name on a free transfer?

How important actually is Aubameyang to the Gunners?

Well, the 31-year-old is one of the most important players on the Mikel Arteta's side. He is a real goal machine and his ability to score goals is unbelievable.

Let's be fair, the Gabonese has got a fantastic scoring ratio and is one of the best finishers in the Premier League, in our opinion. Aubameyang can score all types of goals. There aren't many players who can do that and if you can find one, they cost an lot of money.

Arsenal should at least try to convince the player to renew his contract. The option to sell him might be acceptable if it funded the rebuilding of the squad.

Arsenal are struggling for a couple of years to strengthen their squad, but they failed. For years they are struggling to achieve something, but nothing happens - they dropped out of the Champions League, this season they are far from the first three, they exit the Europa League.

But let's all be fair here, Arsenal used to fail when it comes to player running down a contract. Just take a look back at Aaron Ramsey leaving the club last summer, since then the Gunners were just awful in that area, no creativity and, no idea what they are doing.

If Arsenal don't want to lose on a free transfer Aubameyang and they can't convince him to renew his contract, they are left with no other option but to sell him this summer.

But a player like their captain is vital to the team. This season the Gabonese played in 26 games in the Premier League, scored 17 times and assisted once.
