PSG will continue play in the Champions League

After Ligue 1 has been canceled earlier this week Paris Saint-Germain future in the Champions League was uncertain.

However, Armand Duka, member of UEFA's Executive Committee, has made it clear that PSG and Lyon will be able to continue play in the Champions League.

Ligue 1 abd Ligue 2 have been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic and French government decided to cancel all sport events until September.

The Albanian on the other hand, explained that UEFA are the only organisation which can decide whether the teams can play in the European tournaments.

"The objective is to finish the championships, or at least UEFA gave an indication to finish the leagues across Europe," told Duka to Radio Kiss Kiss.

"But it depends on the situation in each country.

"Some have already decided to shut the championships, but it will be up to UEFA to decide if their clubs will continue playing the European cups.”

It was reported that Paris Saint-Germain can still be crowned Ligue 1 champions, but there is still no official statement on the subject.

The Parisians managed to qualify for the Champions League next stage after they knocked out Borussia Dortmund.

Lyon also managed to beat Juventus in the first leg of the Champions League 16 tie with 1-0, but the second leg is still to play.

UEFA are determined that they will finish the Champions League by the end of August, but it is yet to decide whether that could happen in mini-tournaments or in any other form.

It has been reported that the Champions League and the Europa League might be finished in a certain location to avoid the traveling and for the safety of the player and the whole club staff.
