Floyd died last Monday as a police officer held him down with his knee pressing the neck of George.

A number of Liverpool player, including James Milner, Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson, tweeted pictures of the squad kneeling at Anfield with the caption 'Unity is strength #BlackLivesMatter'.

Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford also expressed his thoughts saying that the society is "more divided than ever" in a powerful anti-racism message.

“Violent acts of racism can no longer be tolerated. I can’t tolerate. I won’t tolerate. WE WON’T TOLERATE. Racism is ignorance. LOVE is intelligence.”
