Leicester City are reportedly demanding at least £60 million from Chelsea in order to sign Ben Chilwell.
The Blues, who are on the verge of signing the RB Leipzig star Timo Werner for £53m, are also looking to sign a new left-back and they have been favourites to sign the Leicester player.
Chilwell seems to be open to the idea of joining Frank Lampard's team this summer.
Leicester are the team who hold the record fee of a defender as they sold Harry Maguire to Manchester United last summer for £80m.
The Foxes managed to take for Riyad Mahrez £60m in 2018, when he joined Manchester City.
It is expected that Chilwell will be the next big-money player to leave the King Power Stadium, as his contract is set to expire in 2024.
Chilwell made his debut for the Foxes in 2015 and since then the 23-year-old played in matches.
He has been a regular starter for Rodgers' side this season as he made 28 appearances in all competitions before the suspension of the season.
Leicester are still on the third place of the Premier League table, which guarantee them a place in the Champions League.
However, they are just five points ahead of Chelsea on fourth and things could go either way as it is still unclear in what shape is the team after the three-month break.
Chilwell has won 11 England caps and looked set to be the first-choice left-back at Euro 2020 for his country before the coronavirus pandemic forced UEFA to postpone the tournament for a year.
