Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé is on the verge of making Champions League history by breaking Lionel Messi’s record.

If he plays in the upcoming match against Roma, the French forward will mark his 100th appearance in Europe’s most prestigious club competition and become the youngest player to reach this milestone.

Currently, the 27-year-old has 99 Champions League games spread across three clubs:

- 9 appearances for Monaco

- 64 appearances for Paris Saint-Germain

- 26 appearances for Real Madrid

By taking part against Roma, Mbappé will reach 100 games at 27 years and 298 days old, besting Messi’s previous record.

The Argentine legend hit the 100-match mark at 28 years and 84 days while playing for Barcelona.

Interestingly, Messi achieved this historic milestone against Roma back in September 2015.

More than a decade later, Mbappé now has the chance to rewrite history against the same opponent, this time wearing the Real Madrid jersey.
