A dramatic draw between Chelsea and Bournemouth

Marcos Alonso has scored his 19th goal in the Premier League for Chelsea. That makes him the most scoring defender in the competition since the start of the 2016-17 season.

Bournemouth had two amazing opportunities to open the scoreline at the beginning of the game. Willy Caballero was forced to make some great saves to keep the ball out of the net.

After a quick start Bournemouth slow down the pace and gave the visitors the opportunity to dominate the game. That led to the opening goal of the match, scored by Marcos Alonso in the 33rd minute after Giroud hit the post and the ball bounced back to him.

However, the Blues lost their lead after 12 minutes played in the second half. In the 54th minute Jefferson Lerma powered a header to slot the ball right into the net and equalized the scoreline.

Only three minutes later in the 57th minute Joshua King surprised everyone as he scored the second goal for the Cherries putting them infront Chelsea. The goal was checked by VAR for offside, but eventually was confirmed.

After scoring the second goal the hosts became more determined and had the chance to extend the lead but they wasted them.

But in the 85th minute Marcos Alonso came to the rescue and he placed the ball right into the net for the second time for the night.

At the end of the second half Alonso had the chance to score a hat-trick but his head accuracy wasn't good enough.

Late in the game Chelsea became more dominant and they pressured the hosts very well, but it didn't lead to more.

The final result out Chelsea just four points ahead Manchester United in fifth. Bournemouth drop a place in the PL table and now they take the 17th place, only two points from Aston Villa with 25 points.
