Barcelona sees the Spotify Camp Nou project as a cornerstone for its long-term financial recovery, according to TV3.

Club CEO Manel del Rio shared details about the timelines and expectations for the stadium's phased reopening. Currently, the club is awaiting a third municipal permit that would open the North Stand and the fan sector, boosting stadium capacity to 62,000 seats.

This will allow more members and fans to return to their home – Spotify Camp Nou.

If the city council gives the green light, the first match with the increased capacity could be the home game against Oviedo on January 24 or 25, 2026.

Looking even further ahead, the club expects capacity to reach around 105,000 seats next season, even without a finished roof. Meanwhile, VIP areas and the third tier should be fully operational.

At full capacity, Barcelona forecasts annual revenues of about €360 million – a crucial sum for tackling its roughly €1.4 billion debt.

Del Rio downplayed concerns over the club’s liabilities, pointing out that clubs with the highest revenues often carry the biggest debts. He said the situation is sustainable and manageable when assets exceed liabilities.

Barcelona’s leadership remains optimistic about the future. Del Rio described the club’s path as positive and stable, also mentioning his personal connection to football and the Catalan giant.
