Chelsea have made it clear that Cole Palmer is a key figure they are not willing to part with, even amid ongoing interest from Manchester United.

The young England forward is currently struggling with form. After contributing to Chelsea’s Club World Cup victory, this season has been tough for Palmer. He’s scored only five goals in 23 appearances and has yet to reach 1,000 minutes of game time.

The Telegraph reports that Liam Rosenior, Palmer’s coach, remains confident in the player’s value and happiness at the club. With a contract running until 2033, Chelsea are determined to keep him at Stamford Bridge.

He is a fundamental part of our long-term plans and an exceptional player. Every player goes through challenging periods in their career, often due to injury. I don't believe his current form is a true reflection of his quality; he is an exceptional footballer.

Palmer's struggles have been exacerbated by a persistent groin injury, making it difficult for him to perform at his best. Rosenior highlighted the frustration Palmer felt during the Brentford match, not out of unhappiness but because his body held him back.

My responsibility, and that of the club, is to ensure he is in a position to perform at his desired level. There was visible frustration during the match against Brentford, not because he was unhappy, but because he simply wasn't physically able to deliver. He was playing through pain and couldn't perform at the level he wanted for the club.
