Liverpool’s management has no plans to reconsider Arne Slot’s future after the season ends, despite the team’s underwhelming performance this campaign, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.

The Reds are close to securing a Champions League spot, but expectations were much higher following a major summer spending spree. Even so, the Dutch coach’s position remains solid, and there’s currently no threat of him being sacked.

I don't even think there’s a serious basis for claims that Liverpool will reassess Arne Slot this summer.

Jacobs says sources close to the club have made it clear for some time that Liverpool and FSG fully back Slot and are already working on serious plans for the summer. The idea that they might suddenly change their minds after the season is dismissed within the club.

He also believes qualifying for the Champions League is pretty much the best Liverpool can hope for under the circumstances. The judgment on Slot’s work isn’t solely based on recent matches.

What can change between now and the end of the season? Liverpool will almost certainly play in the Champions League, and that’s the best they can do. That kind of assessment doesn’t need to wait for summer.

Ben Jacobs

Jacobs revealed that Slot is heavily involved in planning for the summer transfer window, making any change of direction from the club all the more unexpected.

There’s constant dialogue and feedback, and Slot is part of preparing for next season. It would be a huge turnaround if Liverpool’s management suddenly decided in the summer to look at the situation differently.
