Match Preview: Union Berlin vs Bayern Munich

The Bundesliga is back and yesterday we were able to watch the first played fixtures.

Borussia Dortmund absolutely trashed Schalke 04 with 4-0 in the Revierderby and now Favre's side is just one point behind the leaders in the table Bayern Munich.

Today Bayern Munich will be looking to extend their advantage and beat Union Berlin.

Bayern Munich absolutely dominated in the Bundesliga in the past years and if they win the league's title this year that will be their eight consecutive Bundesliga title.

The both teams will meet behind closed doors, but it looks like it will be spectacular.

Here is a glimpse of how we think both teams will line up today:

Team News

The worldwide pandemic might have halted Bayern’s incredible run of form, but in some ways it helped the team.

The two months without any action helped Robert Lewandowski recover from his knee injury, which he sustained in the Champions League first leg against Chelsea. Now the Pole is completely recovered and it is most likely that he will lead the attack today.

As far as we know, Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry are both fit for today's game and they will partner with Lewandowski on the wings.

Thomas Muller is the preferred option for today as Philippe Coutinho and Corentin Tolisso both sustained ankle injuries during the trainings. Both players will be sidelined for the rest of the season.

Joshua Kimmich and Thiago Alcantara are the most likely candidates to play in the midfield area. The duo has shown that they are one of the most dominant pair in the midfield area.

Hans-Dieter Flick will most likely put in defense David Alaba and Jerome Boateng, as Niklas Sule is still recovering from his injury.

In the full-back positions we will most likely see Alphonso Davies and Benjamin Pavard, on the left and on the right respectively.

On goal, most certainly will start Manuel Neuer.

Union Berlin will start today with no manager as Urs Fischer was banned from this game due to breaching the lockdown rules.

The team will be without two of their key attacking player, as Sheraldo Becker is out due to a tight issue and Yunus Malli tested positive for COVID-19.

Marvin Friedrich will miss the match as he has been banned for one game, but we expect to see Christopher Trimmel as he is back from a suspension.
