UEFA urges the European leagues to complete their remaining season and not abandon it. The plan is to complete the season in July when is expected the pandemic to be over.
UEFA, the European Club Association and European Leagues have written to all 55 member associations, to "walk united" through the crisis that the coronavirus caused.
In the written letter, UEFA made it clear that the season should be completed, when it is safe to do it. The option of halted season is not preferred at the moment.
"It is of paramount importance that even a disruptive event like this epidemic does not prevent our competitions from being decided on the field, in accordance with their rules and that all sporting titles are awarded on the basis of results," was stated in the letter.
"As responsible leaders in our sport, this is what we must ensure, until the last possibility exists and whilst planning, operational and regulatory solutions are available.
"We are confident that football can restart in the months to come - with conditions that will be dictated by public authorities - and believe that any decision of abandoning domestic competitions is, at this stage, premature and not justified."
For now the preferred date of ending the season is June 30, but from UEFA are considering to extend that period.
Some clubs are recommending a premature end to their season. Belgium Pro League recommended a premature ending of the season along with some clubs in the Netherlands.
However, the letter from UEFA, ECA and EL says that the top priority still remains the public health.
