Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim SACKED
Manchester United have sacked head coach Ruben Amorim after 14 months, following his “manager, not head coach” comments, a Leeds draw, and the club sitting sixth.

Manchester United have dismissed Ruben Amorim after 14 months in charge.
The 40-year-old arrived from Sporting Lisbon 14 months ago, but endured a difficult spell on the touchline as results and performances failed to meet expectations.
According to Sky Sports News, Amorim has already said farewell and has left United’s training complex.
Darren Fletcher is expected to step in as interim boss.
The decision comes a day after a tense Sunday media appearance in which Amorim insisted he joined Manchester United "to be their manager, not their head coach".
That press conference followed a 1-1 draw with Leeds United, leaving the club sixth in the Premier League standings.

In an official club statement, Manchester United said: "Ruben Amorim has departed his role as Head Coach of Manchester United.
Ruben was appointed in November 2024 and led the team to a UEFA Europa League Final in Bilbao in May.
"With Manchester United sitting sixth in the Premier League, the club's leadership has reluctantly made the decision that it is the right time to make a change. This will give the team the best opportunity of the highest possible Premier League finish.
"The club would like to thank Ruben for his contribution to the club and wishes him well for the future.
"Darren Fletcher will take charge of the team against Burnley on Wednesday."
