FC Barcelona manager Hansi Flick was far from pleased with his team’s performance in the opening 45 minutes against Copenhagen. The Danish side took an early lead, but Barca turned the tide after halftime to claim a 4-1 victory and secure their place in the Champions League knockout rounds.

I wasn't very happy with my team in the first half; we were much better in the second. We need to improve.

Flick pinpointed flaws beyond defense, criticizing their reliance on central play rather than their usual wing-based attacks. This approach didn't pay off in the first half, but the second half was a different story, with four outstanding goals.

We played too much through the middle when we usually play more on the flanks, and we were always looking for that final pass. In the second half, it was brilliant, and we scored four fantastic goals.

Asked about Barca being the only team from La Liga in the round of 16 while English clubs dominated with five entrants, Flick called this expected, praising the Premier League as the world’s best.

The Premier League has seen significant investment; clubs can buy many players, as the transfer market has shown, but all teams competing in the Champions League possess immense quality.

Reflecting on the team’s qualification, Flick showed pride but remained grounded, highlighting the level required to reach this stage and acknowledging the competitive nature of the tournament under its current format.

This is the Champions League, and it shows how exciting the competition becomes under this format, but I only focus on what my team does.

He also expressed confidence in the squad's potential to win the title but admitted there was still plenty of room for improvement.

Two standout performers received special mention. Midfielder Marc Bernal impressed, though Flick noted the youngster needs to develop physically. Meanwhile, forward Lamine Yamal contributed both a goal and an assist and is starting to adjust to the increased defensive attention he now faces.

He needs to adapt because opponents now put up to three players on him. He performed exceptionally well, especially with the first goal. Furthermore, he has not only improved offensively but also defensively. This is crucial because they could have gone straight for goal, and he was there. I'm very pleased with his improvement, and his quality is incredible.
