Messi Mbappe Ramos

The coronavirus and the free agents

The coronavirus pandemic caused a lot of uncertainty among the football world which is leading to a lot of financial instability.

That situation made the clubs to cut off the players' wages - some of the player agreed to that, some did not.

According to some reports, that crisis means that there will not be signings for over 100 million euros in the upcoming years

However, not only that is affected, but also the players contracts. The players who will sign new deals might be asked to reduce their wages, or the other option is the clubs to wait until the players are running out of contract and then make any decisions.

There are key players whose contract is running in the next summer. Lionel Messi's contract expires in 2021 and the player has still not renew it.

Of course, Messi is the highest paid football player in the world and the current situations might make us think whether he can keep earning what he is currently being paid.

Other Barcelona players who run out of contract next year are Ivan Rakitic, Arturo Vidal, Luis Suarez and Riqui Puig.

Real Madrid also have extension problem that they need to solve. Sergio Ramos' contract expires next year and no agreement on an extension has been reached yet.

Luka Modric and Lucas Vazquez are the other player whose contracts with Los Blancos expires next summer.

Player like Paul Pogba, Thiago, Ferran Torres and Diego Costa also run out of contract next year.

The extending problems are not the only problem as there are players who want improvement in their current deals.

One of those players is Kylian Mbappe, who as we stated recently, earns less than half of what Neymar, Cristiano Ronaldo or Messi are paid.

The young Frenchman is unsettled for his small salary and if PSG offer him to cut off his wage, he might consider the option to move from France.
