Kylian Mbappe has still not renewed his contract with Paris Saint-Germain and due to the coronavirus crisis all activity related to football is halted, and that means that the transfer business is included too.
And this means that the young Frenchman's contract with PSG continue to tick down too.
The deal of the 21-year-old player runs out on June 30, 2022 and it is known that Real Madrid are monitoring his situation closely.
If the Frenchman has still not renewed his contract by the end of June next year, then that will almost certainly be a sign of his intentions to move from Paris.
Under the circumstances, Mbappe would be absolutely not obliged to anything and he most certainly will enter into negotiations with other clubs from the start of January 2022.
And that is the hope of Los Blancos as they definitely need to strengthen their frontline and then they will probably make a move in the summer of 2021 for the French striker.
Real Madrid know that in the next summer transfer window, which may be shortened to just one month, it will be mission impossible to sign Mbappe as the Parisians are not willing to negotiate at any price for their star.
It's most certainly not a question about money and Los Blancos will have to wait for another year make an offer given the player might be free to leave at no cost soon after.
PSG has already been put on the table the astronomical contract offer and if Mbappe sign the deal Real Madrid can forget about signing the 21-year-old star for the next five years.
Is that happens, they will have to change their focus to reinforce the frontline, especially with Karim Benzema who will turn 33 this year. This is a position that needs most of their attention for sure.
