Saul Niguez, Atletico Madrid star, has trolled the fans of Manchester United by announcing his next club.
Apparently, it turned out to be a new academy project, which is backed by Nike.
The 25-year-old midfielder has sparked many speculations around his possible move to Old Trafford as he released a teasing video in which he claimed that he will announce his 'new club' in three days.
Manchester United have been linked with signing the Spaniard, with Atletico reportedly ready to lower their asking price for the player from £135m buy-out clause to around £86m.
Many supporters of the Red Devils hoped that the club will land the talented midfielder, who has been a key player for the Spanish club in the recent seasons, and the news that he will announce his next club practically spakred many hopes.
Manchester United legend, the former defender Rio Ferdinand managed to convince even more fans that the 25-year-old player is actually going to Old Trafford as he responded to Saul's Twitter post.
But the Atletico Madrid star disappointed all fans as he announced that he and his brother are launching a new football academy.
Club Costa City is sponsored by the global sports giants Nike and it is based in Elche, the hometown of Saul and Aaron Niguez. The academy is for for footballers aged 4-18.
Over 30 teams and more than 500 players will be brought together by the club in order ‘to develop people that can become professional footballers.’
The club will focus its attention on developing the youngsters as people, as well as working on their football skills and abilities.
Saul's new project has received much publicity, whether he intended to string along Red Devils supporters or not.
