It was reported that Newcastle owners are looking to sign a new head coach for the team and couple of star names among the players.
According to ESPN, Saudi-backed consortium PCP Capital Partners are interested in signing Mauricio Pochettino as a new head coach of the team or the former Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri.
The new owners most certainly are going to give chance to Steve Bruce to prove his worth as a manager, but they are more interested in signing some star names among the coaches, such as Pochettino or Allegri.
Pochettino has proven that he is a great manager as he managed to lead Tottenham to the final of the Champions League and for couple of years they have been in the top four.
However, former Toon boss Rafael Benítez and Borussia Dortmund’s Lucien Favre are also on the list of potential candidates.
It was reported that the new Newcastle owners are looking to sign a new players and for now Cavani seems to be the best option.
Edinson Cavani is out of contract this summer and he will be free to join any club, and if Newcastle manage to sign him, they will be closer to signing Pochettino too.
Other star names that have been linked with a move to St James’ Park are Napoli forward Dries Mertens and Chelsea winger Willian.
There is still no official statement regarding the sale of the club, as the paperwork is still being finalised after an agreement was found on Monday between Mike Ashley and PCP Capital Partners.
It is reported that the deposit has been paid and both parties have exchanged contracts, but the new owners will then need to pass the Premier League’s Owners and Directors test before the takeover can be completed.
After everything is finalised and all that goes through, then the £300m to buy the club will be transferred.
The new chairman of the Magpies will be Yasir Al Rumayyan, who is a close friend to Mohammed bin Salman, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia
