Chelsea Appoint Liam Rosenior as New Head Coach on Long-term Deal
Chelsea have confirmed Liam Rosenior as their new head coach, signing a long-term contract until 2032. The 41-year-old arrives from Strasbourg to replace Enzo Maresca.

Chelsea have officially introduced Liam Rosenior as the team’s new manager. The English coach has signed a long-term deal with the Blues that runs until the summer of 2032. The 41-year-old replaces Enzo Maresca, who was dismissed at the start of the new year.
Rosenior arrives at Stamford Bridge from French side Strasbourg — a club that operates within Chelsea’s wider ownership structure. During his time there, the team enjoyed an impressive campaign, earning a spot in the UEFA Conference League and finishing top of the league phase with 16 points from six matches.
In his coaching career so far, Rosenior has managed Hull City and Strasbourg. Earlier on, he also had a short spell as Derby County’s interim manager, taking charge for 12 games. His appointment at Chelsea is being viewed as a natural progression, given his results and his familiarity with the club’s overall approach.
As a player, Rosenior brings strong Premier League experience too, with more than 140 appearances in England’s top flight — something seen as a positive for working with Chelsea’s current squad.
