The State Commission Against Violence, Racism, Xenophobia, and Intolerance in Sports has handed down a €5,000 fine and a one-year ban from sports venues to an Albacete fan found guilty of a racist act against Real Madrid winger Vinícius Júnior.

The incident took place during the Round of 16 match in the King’s Cup last month. The supporter was caught after throwing a banana peel at the Brazilian player. Police recently identified the perpetrator.

The commission deemed the offense a serious violation under Law 19/2007, which combats violence, racism, xenophobia, and intolerance in sports.
