Tottenham Hotspur’s current campaign is unraveling with a series of knee injuries hitting the squad hard. The most recent blow came when Xavi Simons tore his ACL on 26 April 2026, adding to an already long injury list that has hampered their performances.

This isn’t a one-off. Earlier in the season, Wilson Odobert suffered the same serious knee injury back in February, and Radu Dragusin was sidelined with an ACL rupture in December 2025. The injury woes date further back to the previous year, with James Maddison’s ACL tear on 2 May 2025 and Cristian Romero’s knee issue starting in April, which is expected to keep him out until summer.

Dejan Kulusevski’s long-term knee injury, sustained in May 2025, means he’s unlikely to return until a year later in May 2026, leaving Spurs severely stretched in midfield and defense.

This constant medical crisis has resulted in a troubling fact: Tottenham have suffered more ACL injuries than they have home wins this season. They have only managed two victories on home turf all campaign — one at the start against Burnley in August 2025 and another against Brentford in early December. Since then, no Premier League home win has come in 2026.

The injury list doesn’t stop at knees. The treatment room has been bustling with other knocks to key players:

  • Pape Matar Sarr battling a shoulder injury
  • Ben Davies struggling with an ankle problem
  • Mohammed Kudus sidelined with a thigh issue
  • Destiny Udogie carrying a muscular injury
  • Guglielmo Vicario recovering from hernia surgery

This dangerous cocktail of injuries highlights the struggles Tottenham face both on and off the pitch, casting a long shadow over what might have been a promising season.
