Arsenal have decided to sign Pablo Mari for permanent, according to Brazilian reports.
The Brazilian came to Emirates in London in the January transfer window. The Gunners paid a fee of €5 million to sign Mari on loan from Flamengo, the deal includes an option to sign the 26-year-old player permanently at the end of this season.
Pablo Mari still hasn't made his debut under the management of Arteta, but he played for Arsenal Under-23s against Chelsea, because he needs to regain his fitness.
However, as it seems Arsenal's head coach Mikel Arteta is very pleased with Mari's performance in training and according to some reports Arsenal has indicated to Flamengo that they will sign Mari for permanent at the end of the season.
The reports also claims that the deal might cost up around €16 million (£13.5m) after performance-related add-ons.
In recent interview Arteta admitted that he was really surprised by the commitment Mari shows in training.
"When Pablo joined us he hadn’t played for a long time, but his attitude and commitment has been really good and highly surprising," said the Arsenal manager.
"He did really well the other day and hopefully we'll be able to pick him up soon."
The Brazilian still hasn't shown us what he is capable of, but we believe that soon Arteta will give him the opportunity to play and prove himself.
