Zidane’s Second Son to Play for Algeria? The Rumor Is Heating Up
Zidane’s second son may play for Algeria, sparking speculation. The rumour gains traction as the player considers his international future amid ongoing discussion.

With Luca Zidane now established as Algeria’s first-choice goalkeeper—and already recording two clean sheets in his opening Africa Cup of Nations appearances—local discussion in Algeria has quickly shifted to whether another Zidane might follow. Reports suggest that Elyaz Zidane, Zinedine Zidane's other son, could be moving closer to representing the “Desert Foxes.”
After Algeria’s 1–0 victory over Burkina Faso, journalists questioned Luca about Elyaz’s international future. Luca highlighted the support the squad feels from both the public and his own family, saying the team draws energy from the atmosphere and is determined to give supporters reasons to feel proud.

Still, Luca avoided making any concrete statements about his brother’s next step, adding that it isn’t the right time to discuss it and that they will simply wait and see.
“We’ll see what happens; now is not the moment to talk,” Luca said about his brother Elyaz.
Elyaz, who plays as a left-back for Real Betis, is currently involved with France’s U20 setup and was one of the key players used most often during the U20 World Cup in October. Even so, that youth-level involvement doesn’t rule out a future switch, and his presence in the stands—alongside Zinedine and brother Theo—for Algeria’s two group matches has only fueled the speculation.
