Brazilian football legend Roberto Carlos has denied reports claiming he suffered a heart attack.
Claims emerged yesterday that the former player needed emergency heart surgery, with little information available about his condition. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano was one of those who shared the news, causing alarm.
In response, Carlos took to Instagram to share a photo from his hospital bed where he appeared in good health.
"I would like to clarify the information that has been spread. I recently underwent a preventive medical procedure that was pre-planned with my medical team. It was successful and I am fine. I did not have a heart attack. I am recovering well and look forward to returning to my best form and resuming my professional and personal commitments," he wrote.
He also thanked everyone for their support and reassured fans that there is no cause for concern.
